Everyone in a fast-moving organization needs to be on the same page. It helps if that page actually exists somewhere. A message map is a simple tool. It puts the core messages about the organization or a given topic in a one-page reference format. It explains the organization’s position and offers shorthand ways of phrasing it. The real value of the message map, however, is often found in the process of producing it. The reason people need to get on the same page is that they need to reconcile different perspectives on key issues. Producing a message map provides the forcing function to reconcile those perspectives.
Critical Communications has developed key messages for companies for two decades. We create that one page from which everyone speaks.
